Negating in a regex is much more easy..

(?(?=^index$|^foo$)|([a-z0-9-_.]+))
should be
(?(?!index|foo)([\w-]+))

Hi Robert,

Thankyou for writing such a useful article. I found it got me on the right path for the CMS I am developing. One extra thing you may be able to help me with though is supporting page slugs with a forward-slash (/) character in them. I'm adding a forward slash character to your regex route:

'(?(?=^index$|^admin$)|([a-z0-9-_./]+))'

but then this breaks my admin module as all routes in the form of '/abc/xyz' now route to my pages controller.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Rob
